Applications of MyTREC   Assay Kit 

TREC (T-Cell Receptor Excision Circle) is a specific marker of T cells of thymic origin and thymic function can be determined by quantitative analysis of TRECs. The MyTREC    Assay Kit specifically measures "Signal Joint TRECs (sjTRECs)" using quantitative Real-Time PCR. The sjTRECs have been shown to most accurately represent thymic output.

Quantitative TREC analysis has a demonstrated clinical validity in:

• Detection of Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID) in newborns. SCID is the most severe and fatal variant of Primary     Immunodeficiency diseases

• Determination of thymic output / immune reconstitution following: Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT), Antiretroviral therapy.

• Assessing T-Cell recovery following thymus transplants as in DiGeorge Syndrome.

• Evaluating immune competence in patients with primary immunodeficiencies, idiopathic T-Cell deficiencies.

• Assessing thymic function in patients following chemotherapy, immunosupression, immunotherapy, cancer vaccines.

• Assessment of naive T-Cell compartment or Recent Thymic Emigrants (RTE) in various immunological contexts.

• Detection of T-Cell Lymphopenia.
